We have today received a communication from Southern Districts Basketball advising us that os of 30th May 2023 Carina Cobras and Wynnum Manly Hawks are no longer permitted to enter teams into the Winter 2023 (Current Season). Short version is below.
Communication to all Carina Cobras and Wynnum Manly Hawks club members
As you may be aware the presidents of two clubs currently participating in Southern Districts domestic competition, Carina Cobras and Wynnum Manly Hawks, have created a new Association within the Southern Districts catchment area. They have advised their members that they are leaving and moving to the new Association.As a result, and in consultation with internal and external stakeholders, Southern Districts has made the decision to no longer permit these clubs from participating in our competition, effective 30th May 2023.
A key focus for the Association is to ensure that any player who is currently a member of these clubs who wishes to continue to play at Southern Districts in the winter competition and beyond can do so. As such there are several options available and we have developed this document to assist you in your decision.
