Hoopstars is an inclusive club and makes every possible opportunity available to any person wanting to play. But by being inclusive there are times we reach our capacity for the current season and will stop taking registrations and place inquiring players on a waiting list for any vacancy that opens up, or to give priority during the next season. We are not nominating teams of friends or school-based teams into the competition.

To join the club the first thing you need to do is complete the Expression of Interest form. Hoopstars has been operating at capacity for the last few seasons and cannot guarantee a place exists within the club.

New players to the club or those players who may have taken a season off must complete an Expression of Interest form to join for the next season. If you are a regular player then most of the details will be completed by the form when you complete it.

We are not looking to facilitate teams of friends, school mates or anything else. The club is unable to continue supporting these external teams with the number of volunteers we have. You can try the other clubs or you can get your school to nominate you. Club basketball is managed by the club and players will be allocated by the club to teams.

Our focus is to offer the continuing players the first option in teams throughout the age groups and divisions. We will then go to the EOIs to complete team allocations. We will only complete teams for the number of coaches we have available. If there is no coach then there is no team.

Once you have been offered a position to play for a team you will need to completed the following steps before your child can play their first game with Hoopstars. Without the 3 steps completed below we cannot get your young player started. Please do not start doing these steps until you have received an offer to play as we cannot arrange refunds of the registration fees.

The registration is separate to the fees you are required to pay to Hoopstars. The registration provides you with the Basketball Qld Player Insurance and the administration services for the competition. Players must be registered four(4) days prior to game one. SDBAL website and complete the mandatory registration.

Season fees are payable to Hoopstars Basketball to cover the costs association with entering teams to the SDBA competition such as court fees, training costs and referee fees. Pay your fees online.

Hoopstars has decided to move to a format whereby players purchase and keep their uniforms. If your child ceases playing we do have a Buy and Sell group where you can off load uniforms no longer needed. You can purchase your uniform online.
